Not sure which service you need? That is normal.

Most property problems do not arrive with a label on.

The gutter is leaking, the wall has a damp patch, the kitchen has not been touched since 1998, or your block inspection is due in two months and last year’s paperwork has gone walkabout.

You do not have to pick the right service page. If you describe the problem to us, we will tell you what needs to happen and which team will do it. Ring 01435 817 226, or read through the services below and click the one that sounds closest.

We keep the main trades in-house

Building, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling, roofing. That means when a refurb needs a plumber to rough in before the plasterer starts, both work for the same company, to the same schedule. Subcontractor costs and delays fall out of the price.

We are properly accredited

Gas Safe for gas work. NAPIT for electrical. Federation of Master Builders for building. Federation of Small Businesses for business-level cover. If any body has a concern with our work, we have the accreditation pathway to resolve it.

We give written quotes

Every job over £500 comes with a written, itemised quote. You can compare it to anything else. You can also see what has not been included, which is where most builders hide the gap between their number and the next one.

We are local

Our yard is in Eastbourne. Most of our jobs are within a 30 minute drive. That is why we can turn up quickly, finish faster, and keep travel out of the invoice. It also means we see our customers around, which is why word of mouth is still our biggest source of work.

Questions people ask before choosing a service

How do I know which service I need?

Describe the problem. We will tell you which team covers it. Most repair jobs sit under Building Repairs. Anything that involves changing the layout or building new space is a Renovation. A full top-to-bottom job (often for a landlord or a sale) is a Refurbishment. Ongoing contracted work for property managers sits under Block Management Compliance.

Can I hire CB for a one-off small repair?

Yes. We do not have a minimum job size within our working area. Some of our biggest customers started with us fixing a door handle or a broken tap.

Do you give free quotes?

Yes, within our normal working area. Site visits are free, and written quotes over £500 are itemised and sent by email.

Are you Gas Safe and NAPIT registered?

Yes. Gas work is Gas Safe registered. Electrical work is NAPIT certified. Both registrations are on the footer of every page of this site.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes. About a third of our work is commercial, block management, or letting agent work. The same team, the same standards, with the added paperwork that commercial clients need.

Can you handle the architect and building control side of an extension?

Yes. For extensions and larger renovations we coordinate the architect, structural engineer, and building control so you have one point of contact. We can introduce our regular architects if you do not have one.

Are you insured?

Yes. Full public liability and employers’ liability cover. Certificates available on request.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. Our building work is covered by our workmanship standard, and Gas and electrical work is certificated. Federation of Master Builders membership also gives you an additional dispute resolution route if it ever becomes relevant.
