A look at the jobs we have completed, the kinds of building we work on and the standard we work to.
Gas Safe registered, FMB members and family-run in Eastbourne.
The most useful thing you can look at when choosing a builder is completed work: not a brochure, but the actual finish on a wall, the setting out of a tiled floor and whether the detailing around a window looks considered.
The photographs on this page are all our own work across East Sussex. They cover kitchens and bathrooms, whole house and office refurbishment, extensions and conversions, rendering and external work, roofing and joinery, and garden and landscaping projects.
If you are planning something similar, they give a fair idea of what we take on and the standard we work to. If you would like to see a job in progress or speak to a customer we have worked for, ask us and we will arrange it, which is usually more convincing than any photograph.
Ring us on 01323 671001 or send a few details and we will tell you honestly whether your project is one we are well suited to.
Our work splits roughly three ways. Property maintenance and repairs make up the largest share by number: roofing, plumbing, electrics, damp, joinery and decorating, often several jobs in a single visit.
Renovations and refurbishments are the biggest by value: kitchens, bathrooms, whole house refurbishment, flat turnarounds, commercial interiors and restoration after fire or flood.
Then the structural end: extensions, loft and garage conversions, removing walls and fitting beams, wall tie replacement and new build.
A good number of our projects cross all three, which is the main reason customers use one firm rather than assembling a team themselves.
Finished rooms rather than staged shots. Kitchens with the units scribed to walls that were never square, bathrooms tanked before tiling, and offices refurbished around staff who carried on working.
Outside, you will see rendering and external refurbishment on coastal property, roof and chimney work, cladding and external staircases, and gardens rebuilt with the groundwork done underneath rather than paving laid on sand.
Some are large projects that ran for months. Others are single rooms. We have included both deliberately, because most people ringing us have a single room in mind rather than a whole building.
Every photograph is a job we carried out ourselves in East Sussex.
Each service page carries its own gallery of relevant projects, so if you are interested in one particular kind of job that is the quickest place to look.

Client
Colin, Nat and the team carried out the work at a competitive price with the minimum of fuss. Courteous, punctual and could not have been more helpful.
Alongside domestic work we refurbish offices, meeting rooms, corridors and communal areas, and a good deal of it is carried out around staff and residents rather than in an empty building.
That work has different priorities. Escape routes have to stay clear, dust has to be contained rather than allowed to travel through a working office, and the noisy stages usually happen outside trading hours. Finishes need to be hard wearing and scrubbable rather than domestic, or a corridor looks tired within a year.
The gallery on our who we work with page shows open plan office refurbishment, meeting rooms, corridors and feature walls completed across East Sussex.
Yes. Ask us and we will put you in touch with people we have worked for on similar jobs. For larger projects we can often arrange for you to see work in progress or recently completed, which tells you more than any photograph. There is also written feedback on our testimonials page.
Yes. Every photograph on this site is a job carried out by our own team in East Sussex. We do not use stock photography of other people’s buildings, which is worth checking on any builder’s website.
Almost certainly. We take on single repairs, whole house refurbishments and extensions, and there is no minimum job size. Ring us on 01323 671001 and describe it, and if it is not something we are well suited to we will say so and point you in a better direction.
It varies enormously. A bathroom is usually seven to ten working days, a kitchen two to three weeks, a flat refurbished throughout four to eight weeks, and an extension twelve to twenty weeks on site. We give you a written programme with the quote rather than a vague estimate.
Yes. A good deal of the housing here is Victorian, Edwardian or older, and it needs breathable materials, matched joinery profiles and lime rather than cement. Where a building is listed or in a conservation area we are happy to discuss the specification with your conservation officer.
Yes, including for commercial work and for managing agents. We can supply references, insurance details, method statements and risk assessments, and for tendered work we are happy to price against a schedule of works.
We are based on Hyde Gardens in Eastbourne, so the town and the villages around it are home ground for us. We are out working here most days and we know the housing well, including the older seafront terraces, the Victorian and Edwardian houses in Upperton and Meads, and the newer estates and blocks of flats nearer the edge of town.
From Eastbourne we cover the whole of East Sussex. Along the coast that takes in Bexhill, Hastings, Seaford, Newhaven, Brighton, where salt air and driving rain are hard on any building. Inland we work regularly in Polegate, Hailsham, Pevensey, Willingdon, Lewes, Uckfield, Heathfield, Crowborough, Battle and the smaller villages between them, where period cottages and country properties often need a gentler approach and older materials matched carefully.
Being local matters for projects of every size. We can get to you quickly to take a look, we know the buildings and the ground conditions, and we are never far away if you need us again. If your village is not on the list there is a good chance we still reach you, so give us a call on 01323 671001 and we will tell you either way.
We are Gas Safe registered and members of the Federation of Master Builders, NAPIT and the FSB. Those memberships mean our gas, electrical and building work is measured against recognised standards, and that an outside body has looked at how we work rather than us simply saying we are good at it. For a family business our reputation matters more than anything, and we have built it one customer at a time.
